In Your Space presents Shenanigans in the City
Time: 12pm - 6pm
Admission: Free Venue: The Craft Village, Shipquay Street
Join us for an experience to awaken that St Patrick’s Day atmosphere in a setting reminiscent of Ireland in times gone by. This family event will feature Irish and Ceilí Dancing, Children’s Storytelling and Ancient Celtic Mummer performances, together with comedy stilt walking performances featuring ‘The Quiet Men’ and‘The Celtic Warriors’. Aline up of top class music is also promised with music from local bands Ard Rí and Stone Soup.
Ard Rí are a modern acoustic folk band formed from experienced musicians who have played all over the world as part of their previous musical exploits in renowned groups Red Organ Serpent Sound, The Whole Tribe Sings and The New Capri’s.
Stone Soup features well-known singer songwriter Paddy Nash who has performed alongside Bap Kennedy and Jack L. Renowned for delighting their audiences with big story songs, big choruses and outstanding melodies, Stone Soup are set to cook up a musical treat for St Patrick’s Day.

Patrick's Day Carnival Parade - presents "Cultural Myths
and Legends". Departing from Car Park adjacent to Derry City Council
Offices on Strand Road the parade will move along Strand Road and into
Waterloo Place pedestrian area. Prime public viewing areas are suggested
along Strand
Road and in Waterloo Place pedestrian area. The parade will finish in Guildhall
square.

George Murphy & the Black Donnellys
George Murphy first burst onto the music scene in Ireland with his performances on RTE's TV talent show "Your a Star" and has gone on to become a household name. Many of his admirers see him as a natural successor to the great Luke Kelly of the Dubliners and his first single "The Moon Going Home" was a No:1 hit in Ireland while his debut album, Dreamed a Dream, which was produced by our very own Phil Coulter, achieved multi-platinum status. George Murphy will be joined on the Guildhall Square stage between 3 and 4.15 pm by his band, the Black Donnellys and will perform hits such as "Raglan Road" and "Dublin in the Rare Auld Times."
