Domestic Refuse CollectionOn the day of refuse collection you should wheel your bin to the edge of the kerb convenient to where the vehicle usually stops. Please leave the bin with the handles facing the road. This should be done as early as possible on the day of collection and not later than 8.00a.m.Note: If your wheeled bin is not out for collection, staff cannot return to empty it until the next scheduled collection date. The wheeled bin is almost three times the capacity of your previous bin and this should mean that there should be no need for additional refuse in black bags to be placed with the bin, during the normal weekly collection. Do not deposit materials such as stones, concrete, trees, clays or car engines in the bin (all of which have been found in wheeled bins recently), as these damage the mechanism of the collection vehicle. If you cannot easily move the bin it is unreasonable to expect the collector to do so. To avail of this service telephone (028)7137 4107 and the operator will take details of the items you wish to have collected and inform you when the collection will take place. Bulky household items include old furniture, domestic appliances, but not waste arising from construction works, fireplaces, building debris etc.
