Foyle Recycle

Free Cycle Foyle Freecycle™ serving the Foyle basin area including Strabane,Derry/Londonderry, Limavady and Dungiven. We are open to all who want to "recycle" that special something rather than throw it away.

Foyle Recycle

Foyle Freecycle is a local voluntary group concerned with reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and increasing the number of items that can be re-used. It is based on the principle that one person's junk can be another persons treasure. It is part of a worldwide network of Freecycle groups that have spread across the globe under the slogan "Changing the world one gift at a time".

Freecycle is open to anyone who wants to see that special something go to a good home, rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, toys that the kids have grown out of or a pile of spare cardboard left over from an art project - it can be offered to someone on Freecycle. Established members can also post a wanted notice and another member might just realise that the thing gathering dust at the back of the garage can be given away and the space reclaimed!

Foyle Freecycle serves the whole Foyle Basin area extending from Strabane to Limavady (even occasionally Coleraine and Dungiven) on the East bank of the Foyle and from Lifford to the tip of Inishowen on the West bank of the river.

Anyone who wants to participate in Foyle Freecycle should visit:

All that is required in order to join is a valid e-mail address. New members are sent a welcome message explaining the principles, but after watching the messages for a week or so and it should be clear how the Freecycle game is played.
