Roads Service

Roads Service is an Executive Agency within the Department for Regional Development. The Department is the sole road authority in Northern Ireland. Their mission is to facilitate the safe movement of people, goods and services for the social and economic benefit of all the people in Northern Ireland.

Roads Service are a key partner in the Pride in our City Campaign demonstrating their responsibility towards the protection and improvement of the quality of the natural and built environment eg “wild flora” habitat creation. They have co-operated in partnership with Derry City Council in the maintenance and development of the soft landscape areas in the city. Roads Service is key to the development of sustainable transport corridors complementing the expanding of greenways throughout the city.
