Trust.
The Green Pennant Award Survey is being conducted by the Green Flag Advisory
Board, which oversees the strategic direction of the Green Flag Award Scheme,
including the Green Pennant Award, and its delivery. Since the launch of
the Green Pennant in 2002 more and more community groups have participated
in the Scheme highlighting the tremendous work that people do to improve
their neighbourhoods. This survey aims to collect the views of those that
participate in the Scheme, and the views of those that currently do not
participate, so the Board can consider whether the Green Pennant is an effective
tool for communities to improve their green spaces and whether there is
a consensus to change the Green Pennant Award in any way.
O2 has recently launched a new community fund to enable people to
make improvements in their communities and environment. Awards of
up to £1,000 will be available to support local environmental,
urban renewal and conservation projects.
The funding could, for instance, be used to hire tools and equipment,
or to purchase plants, paint, signs and materials. Examples of projects
that could receive funding include turning derelict land into an amenity
park /wildlife area, or the planting of trees or floral schemes.
Details of the fund and application process can be found at:
