Following the event at Prehen, Deep Fried Funk will hold an allnight dance party at The Nerve Centre, Magazine St, Derry. Headlining the event will be Justin Robertson and Erol

Justin Robertson
Justin Robertson

Alkan. Justin Robertson should require no introduction to anybody who’s been following the rise of club culture over the last few years since he has been at the forefront of musical innovation for the past decade. As well as holding a residency at UK’s leading techno club, Bugged Out, he regularly rocks crowds abroad in USA, Japan, Germany , France, Italy, Argentina and Uruguay with his turntable skills and his mixture of techno, house and electronic funk. Regarded by many as one of the greatest DJ’s in the world, he is one of the few DJ’s whose production talents match their deck skills. Releasing tracks under several guises including Lionrock, Gentleman Thief and Revtone, he has achieved both chart success and underground respectability with hit singles ‘Packet of Peace’ and ‘ Rude Boy Rock’. A seriously sought after remixer, Robertson has remixed many major acts including Manic Street Preachers, The Chemical Brothers, New Order, Bjork and Happy Mondays.

Erol Alkan
Erol Alkan

Erol Alkan, has been hailed by The Face as the new Fatboy Slim and is the only DJ besides John Peel to have the crowd at Fabric chant his name after his set. Alkan first started making waves as the man at the forefront of the recent wave of bootlegging, or 'plunderphonics', one of the most exciting musical adventures in a decade. The idea is simple, but difficult to do well. Take the vocals from track A and
lay them down over the instrumentals of track B. For the past five years, he's been turning on an enthusiastic crowd at London's The End every Monday night with his own Trash night. Erol Alkan is increasingly playing abroad and in the past year has played clubs in Barcelona, Milan, Paris and New York. He also has high profile residencies at Bugged Out!, The Boutique and 21st Century Body Rockers. What will happen next is a closely guarded secret and subject to change. The glittering road to superstar-DJ status is definitely there, if he wants it. He's been offered A&R jobs, production gigs, remix commissions from major artists - and turned them all down.

Completing the lineup on the night will be Deep Fried Funk resident DJ's and Darren Allen and Hago.
