The Navigator Tour kicks off on Monday 26th April in Londonderry's Guildhall Square, the home town of one of Northern Ireland's most legendary bands, The Undertones. Gideon will be joined by two members of the group, Mickey Bradley and John O'Neil, who will be reminiscing on growing up in Derry and revealing how The Undertones were formed. There will also be live music from new up and coming Derry band, Red Organ Serpent Sound.
Bangor is the next stop on the tour, home town to the band Snow Patrol. Currently on tour in the US, they took time out to talk to Gideon about Bangor life and their meteoric rise to fame. Tuesday’s show, which will be broadcast from the Mackee Clock Arena, Bangor, will also have live music from new local band Guided.
Belfast is the home for Wednesday’s show, outside the Castle Court Shopping Centre, where Gideon will be joined by the City’s very own band The Debonnaires, who will be performing live.
Downpatrick is the destination for Thursday's show, the birthplace of the mighty Ash, who will have been in concert the night before in Belfast. 6 Music’s presenter Gideon Coe will catch the band backstage after their concert and listeners can hear the interview Thursday morning along with live acoustic tracks and chat with Downpatrick newcomers, Torgas Valley Reds.
The Navigator tour comes to an end in Larne the birthplace of one of Northern Ireland's biggest rock bands -Therapy? Where Gideon will be joined by new local band Throat, who will be dropping in for a live chat and playing the Tour out.
