Funding under the Main Grant scheme would normally range between £1,000 and £5,000 per programme. Calls for applications will occur once per annum.
Applicants can only be awarded funding under one of the available
funds i.e. Main Grant Aid or Support Grant Aid. Those organisations
in receipt of Service Level Agreements from Derry
City Council cannot apply for Main Grant Aid or Support Grant
Aid.
Due to the anticipated demand for this grant, Derry City Council has
opted to cap the level and amount of grants being awarded
to applicant groups
in each individual programme category. Applicants may, if they
wish, make multiple applications as long as each application
is a ‘stand alone’ project
that is accompanied by all the relevant additional information.
For example an organisation may make three separate applications to
a specific programme. All applications are deemed eligible and are given
a high score by the selection panel. Each of the three applications
is
asking for a grant of £2,000 giving a total grant from Derry City
Council to the group of £6,000. In this instance Derry City Council
would only be in a position to award a maximum of £5,000 for the
three applications. Please note however that applicant groups are permitted
to make more than one application, up to £5,000 across a range of
programmes provided that each application is for a different
project and is accompanied by all the relevant additional information.
Derry City Council Grant Aid programmes aim to encourage and facilitate activities which enhance and develop the Derry City Council area and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
Applicants must clearly indicate that their application is made on behalf
of an organisation which benefits the Derry City Council area.
Council will only award grants to projects which benefit people
from within the district council boundaries.
Council will fund hire charges for Council owned venues and
Council owned equipment for specific projects.
