Listen to Divers tell their adventure stories about finding a Spanish Armada shipwreck, check out the Our Lives movie in our chill out area and view artefacts and objects from the Tower Museum.
View the large-scale image of the “Peace Bridge” which will be on public display in the marquee area.
Look out for the Kick Start to Work Bus. If you are 16 or over and
unemployed the Kick Start to Work Bus will be at hand to help find you
employment . The Kick Start Bus will be present at the Foyle Days event with
information, advice and guidance, to assist you in entering into appropriate
training and job opportunities across the city and beyond.
Valuing Heritage by Valuing Memories
To celebrate the city hosting the annual Royal Navy Association conference over the weekend, Derry City Council invites locals and visitors alike to record their memories of the cities maritime history in our Maritime Marquee. Listen to the fascinating stories recorded on the cities maritime history and why not tell your own story to our Heritage and Museum and reminiscence staff.
You can also take a historical tour of the Ebrington Site and visit the Atlantic Memorial Exhibition in the Workhouse Museum. Tours operate every half hour from 12 pm with the last tour at 3.30 pm. A shuttle service will operate from the Council Offices car park.
For specific times on these activities just drop into the information point in the Maritime Marquee.
Our chill out area in the Maritime marquee will be open from 12 pm – 4 pm
with Two’s Company serving great quality coffee and delicious food in the
surrounds of our 40’s themed café. Or why not pick up something from the
Walled City Market traders located at Queen’s Quay who are sure to have
something for everyone.
For Foyle Day’s special lunch time offers why not visit Mange 2, Timerquay, Quay West or the Garage all situated along the Quay.
