authentic history of the Bogside area by those who helped shape it.

A fun-filled session of story-telling and nursery rhymes aimed at pre-school children.
11.00am Visit the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall
Containing it’s own museum the Memorial Hall houses artefacts dating
back to the Siege of Derry including some of the original locks for the city
gates.

12.00pm A Cultural Experience Tour by City Tours
View the murals from the City Walls and learn about the impact
emigration, the siege and modern political history have made in shaping the
city as we know it today. Departs from Tourist Information Centre.

Bring along your poems, plays and short stories to this free drop
in workshop at the newly refurbished Playhouse on Artillery Street –
all writers welcome to attend.

2.30pm Northern Ireland Archive of the Moving Image
A unique film heritage of Northern Ireland and the City of Derry
at The Nerve Centre, Magazine Street. Over 150 hours of footage is available
to view charting the heritage of the six counties of Northern Ireland for
the first one hundred years of the moving image. There are also three specially
made films available for viewing.

3.00pm ‘The Famous Writers of Derry’ Literary Tour
The Walls are the backcloth to this tour through the city’s
literary heritage. See through the eyes of Seamus Heaney, Brian Friel, Cecil
Francis Alexander and many more. Tour departs from Customer Service desk,
Level 3, Richmond Centre.

4.00pm Visit a selection of the City’s Cathedrals and Churches.
Take time to call into some of our many wonderful cathedrals and churches
including the city’s oldest building, St Columb’s Cathedral, St
Eugene’s Cathedral, St Augustine’s Church and the Long Tower Church.
