Community Safety Partnership Small Grants Scheme 2011 to 2012

The Community Safety Partnership invites applications for consideration from interested groups, organisations, schools and colleges for grants of £1,000 to £10,000 to be spent in the current financial year.
Tackling Anti Social Behaviour in Hotspot Areas
Maximum award £10,000
Applicants must demonstrate how they will reduce Anti-Social Behaviour and Anti-Community Activity across the Council area with a particular focus on hotspots. Projects should address specific individuals and/or groups who may be vulnerable to engaging in anti social behavior at times when it is most prevalent within local neighbourhoods.

Youth Interventions; Early Years and Early Stages
Maximum award £10,000
Applicants must demonstrate a clear understanding of the long term community and societal benefits that can accrue from early years and early stage support and the link between such intervention and the reduction of crime and ASB. Applications should address children and young people’s understandings of feeling safe and explore/promote behaviour that is likely to contribute to a safer, shared environment for all.

Fear of Crime
Maximum award £1,500
Applicants must demonstrate how they will address the issues surrounding the ‘Fear of Crime’ thereby reducing the fear and worry about crime especially among the elderly and more vulnerable groups in our communities and creating safer more confident communities.

Priority Youth Interventions
Maximum Award £5,000
Applicants must demonstrate how they will target children and young adults, especially disaffected and ‘hard to reach’ individuals/groups, aged between 10 to 25 through a range of diversionary, intervention and developmental activities. Hotspot areas for ASB and criminal activity, as well as interface areas, will be prioritized with activities running primarily during the summer months. Successful applications will incorporate developmental activities to encourage behavior/attitudinal change amongst children and young people.

Completed applications should be returned in a sealed envelope endorsed ‘Small Grants Scheme’ and be addressed to Community Safety Partnership, Derry City Council Offices, 98 Strand Road, Derry BT48 7NN. To arrive no later than 12 noon on Friday 24th June 2011.
