Economic Development

The Economic Development Section aims to realise Derry’s potential as the Regional City of the North West of Ireland. The Economic Development Strategy identified that the city and the NW Region requires significant local and external intervention to build its physical, human and capital resources. The Council’s priorities underpin the development of all sectors of the local economy. Addressing these priorities is essential to the development of Derry as the key strategic employment location of the North West and as the central focus of the North West Development Corridor between Letterkenny and Coleraine.

The Section is responsible for a range of services/ functions, which are broken down under the following headings: Entrepreneurship and Business Development; Investment location; Tourism Development; Urban and Rural Regeneration; Digital Economy
