Bike Week

Bike Week 2011“Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling and show how cycling can easily be part of everyday life.  Demonstrating the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling the week aims to get people to give cycling a go all over the UK & Ireland.

This year the Derry Access Forum and its partners are looking to address some of the common barriers to cycling by offering a range of activities to encourage new and returning cyclists to “dust off” their bikes and take to two wheels.  Whether your bike is in need of some TLC, you need a bit of training to get back on the roads or you’re unsure of where to go – this year it’s all about removing such barriers and asking “So, what’s your excuse?”  With more and more people getting on their bikes and the launch of the City’s very own traffic-free foot and cycle bridge it’s never been a better time!”
