St Patrick’s Day Spring Carnival Parade

2.30 – 3.30pm    Carnival Parade

This year’s Spring Carnival Parade takes us on a Voyage of Discovery exploring our wild, wondrous and wacky universe! North West Carnival Initiative have been working with communities from throughout the City to create great journeys of imagination, taking us from the depths of the oceans through rainforests and jungle right to the edge of space.

Carnival Route: Parade commences at Derry Council car park travelling towards the Strand Road turn left towards the City Hotel and moving along Queens Quay returning to the council car park.

Large crowds are expected to line the route so come early to avoid any disappointment.

derry stpatricks 2011 The streets of Derry-Londonderry will be awash with carnival entertainment for all the family, as local artists and communities come together to explore our wild, wondrous and wacky universe!

North West Carnival Initiative have been working with communities from throughout the City to create great journeys of imagination, taking us from the depths of the oceans through rainforests and jungle right to the edge of space.

We celebrate the achievements and discoveries of intrepid explorers such as Amelia Earhart whose pioneering adventures in flight broke boundaries for both women and aviation and landed her in Ballyarnett!

We explore the city’s journey and celebrate the many new and wondrous events which lay ahead. We salute our sporting heroes and maritime histories and celebrate the upcoming Olympic Torch and Clipper Festivals.

An enticing spectacle of dancers, musicians, stilt walkers, fabulous creations and more, the largest carnival Parade in the North West is brought to you by North West Carnival Initiative supported by Derry City Council, Children In Need, Derry City Council Community Relations & Ilex working with the magic makers who are:
