NW Peace III Leisure and Sport Social Inclusion and Cohesion Project

The North West Cluster Sport and Leisure Peace III programme looks at addressing issues such as sectarianism, racism and conflict resolution through the medium of Sport. The United through Sport campaign /programme is designed to help build positive relations at a local and regional level through the three main element of:
A Multi sport initiative
This involves delivery of various sporting disciplines in the three areas of Derry, Strabane and Omagh in school and community settings. Coaches who will deliver on the programme will attend Good relations training and have the opportunity to avail of the ILM accredited module.

This involve a number of different aspects including:
The NW Olympic Forum
Primary schools for the 5 partner areas of Derry, Strabane, Omagh, Sligo and Donegal take part in an Olympic themed educational initiative and host an Olympic style event in their school culminating in a regional mini Olympics held to celebrate the success of all those children involved in the project.
