Grass Roots Football Development

The aim of the programme is to develop association football throughout the council area, in accordance with policy for good practice outlined by IFA and UEFA (Governing Body for European Football).

The IFA/DCC grassroots development programme is one of 15 across Northern Ireland.  In 2009 the IFA Grassroots Development Programme received 5 star status for the work carried out in Northern Ireland in grassroots football.  The four main objectives of each centre are:

• Introducing, increasing & sustaining participation at all levels in football
• Developing players, coaches, teachers & volunteers within football
• Using football to improve quality of life
• Developing & supporting foundations for football
