Mayor Switches On Lisnagelvin Christmas Lights

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

The Christmas Tree Lights Switch On Ceremony at Lisnagelvin Leisure Centre will be performed by the Mayor, Councillor Lynn Fleming, on Friday 2nd December at 7.00 p.m.

Special guest on the night will of course be Santa Claus himself, who will be arriving with the help of the local Fire Service, on board one of their fire engines.

The event, which is sponsored by Automated Vending, will also include a Christmas Pool Disco taking place at 7.30 p.m. Spaces are limited to boys and girls aged 8 plus and tickets are currently on sale at the Leisure Centre reception. The charge is £3.00 including a free “goodie” bag.

The Mayor, Councillor Lynn Fleming, urging the public to come along and join in the festive fun, said this was a great event for all the family.

“The annual Christmas Switch On at Lisnagelvin is a fantastic event for the family and it creates a real Christmas atmosphere in the Waterside. We are hoping there will be a great crowd of people there on Friday night to welcome Santa Claus and to enjoy the spirit of Christmas,” she said.

Details about the Switch On and the Christmas Pool Disco Party can be obtained by contacting the Reception at Lisnagelvin, Tel. 028 7134 7695.
