Press ReleaseInner City Trust River Foyle Project presented to Development CommitteeMonday, 29 January 2007Members of Derry City Council Development Committee received a presentation from the Inner City Trust this afternoon on their Inner City Trust River Foyle Project. Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Executive of the Inner City Trust, Paddy Doherty said: “The Inner City Trust River Foyle Project is an attempt to create a haven of peace on the centre of the river which divides the city, where both Catholics and Protestants together can meet and appreciate historic shared Christian heritage. The iconic building on the River Foyle, representing Columba, will present a new image of the city to the world.” In welcoming the project in principle, members of the Development committee have committed to consulting closely with key stakeholders in the city in an effort to clarify how the project will be advanced.
