Lisnagelvin to host summer Splashathon

Wednesday 28th May

Lisnagelvin Leisure Centre will play host to a fundraising event for Tommy’s, the baby charity next month.

The Splashathon is scheduled to take place on Friday, 06 June, and babies, toddlers, young children and their parents across the city are being encouraged to register and help raise as much money as possible to fund research into the causes of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

Registration forms for the event are available from the reception of Lisnagelvin Leisure Centre or on the Splashathon website - www.splashathon.org .

Martin Ward is the duty manager at Lisnagelvin Leisure Centre. “Derry City Council is proud to support the Tommy’s Splashathon event. Not only is the event a good opportunity for parents to have fun with their kids helping them ‘splash’ in the pool. This event has been running at the centre for a number of years and has always been a great success.

“This year will be no different and we are looking forward to having kids and families coming along on the day between 10 and 11 am, having fund and at the same time help raise much needed funds for this worthwhile charity.”

For further information contact Lisnagelvin Leisure Centre directly at 028 7134 7695.
