Joint comment from Derry City Council and Northern Ireland Judo Federation

Following a meeting this afternoon (Monday 27th November) between the Chairman of the Northern Ireland Judo Federation, Robbie Irwin and Mayor Cllr Helen Quigley, it has been confirmed that a number of issues have now been clarified.

Mayor Cllr Helen Quigley has indicated that Council along with the Northern Ireland Judo Federation are moving forward in close cooperation in developing the NI Judo Centre of Excellence as the flagship facility in the proposed sports regeneration scheme for St Columb's Park.

Mr Irwin also indicated he was grateful to the Mayor for her timely intervention on this matter and he looked forward to working closely with Derry City Council on this key partnershp for sports development.
