Council Appoints New Chief Executive

The Mayor, Councillor Gerard Diver has welcomed the appointment of Mrs. Valerie Watts as the Chief Executive and Town Clerk of Derry City Council. Mrs. Watts has been appointed to succeed Mr. Anthony McGurk, following his retirement earlier this year. Mrs. Watts is currently the Director for Corporate Services with East Dunbartonshire Council in Scotland and is expected to take up her new role in the coming months.
