Press ReleaseSchool Hallowe’en HootsFriday, 22 October 2004From Monday 25th October over 450 children from schools around the City will attend the Hallowe’en schools programme, which is taking place in the Waterside Library, Workhouse Museum and Central Library as part of this year’s Banks of the Foyle Hallowe’en Carnival celebrations. The events, which are planned as part of the Hallowe’en Carnival celebrations, are an annual favourite and spaces for the tours and stories have been filled weeks in advance. As the Tower Museum is currently closed for refurbishment, the Workhouse Museum and Waterside Library have been incorporated into the schools programme this year to facilitate the demand for Hallowe’en events. Staff at both the Waterside and Central Library, and Workhouse Museum have made a huge effort this year incorporating traditional Hallowe’en games and enchanted witches spinning yarns and stories to help everyone get into the Hallowe’en spirit for the Banks of the Foyle Hallowe’en Carnival which kicks off on Monday 25th October. A full programme of events for the five day festival is now available
through Derry City Council Offices, the Tourist Information Centre
or via the website www.derrycity.gov.uk/halloween. For event information
