Quilts of Life Exhibition opens at the Tower Museum

19th July 2010

This touring exhibition by the Loose Thread Quilters, was originally commissioned by the National Trust to celebrate the “Life and Times of Edith, Lady Londonderry”, on the 50th anniversary of her death.

Loose Thread Quilters (LTQ) was formed in 1996 and is a small group of quilt makers drawn from all parts of Northern Ireland. With a membership of 45 people, the group are united in their common love of fabric colour and texture and promote the art of patchwork, appliqué and quilt making for both traditional and contemporary fabric artists.

The ‘Quilts of Life’ exhibition will be situated within the Tower Museum throughout the months of July and August and admission is free. For more information telephone (028) 71372411
