Monday 18th October 2004

Details have just been announced that top Radio One DJ, Dave Pearce will be the special guest at the Banks of the Foyle Hallowe’en Carnival Student Stage on Hallowe’en Night.

Radio One DJ, Dave Pearce

Renowned for his euphoric style of uplifting trance and hard dance - with the odd trademark anthem thrown in, Dave Pearce will be one of the opening acts at the Students’ Zone in Victoria Market Car Park before he goes on to present his weekly Dance Anthems show from BBC Radio Foyle, especially for the Hallowe’en celebrations.

Commenting on the news Nuala Magee, Festivals Organiser said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Dave Pearce will be performing at this years Students’ Stage. As one of the UK’s most in demand DJ’s he is sure to kick the celebrations off to a fantastic start.

“The Students’ Zone party will continue into the evening with a line up featuring some of the North West’s best up and coming talent and prizes galore for the best costumes not to mention thousands of bottles of Lucozade Energy to help keep the carnival spirit going for all those participating.”

New to this years carnival the Students’ Zone celebrations will also see the arrival of the Students’ Parade, which has been organised by Derry City Council in association with the University of Ulster’s Magee Campus Students Union. This spectacle of energy and colour will be led by the Mad Hatters Samba band and will leave from the UU’s Magee Campus joining the festivities in Victoria Market Car Park.

As the day turns to night the spectacular River Foyle Fireworks display will provide the highlight of the evening, however the fun will continue as many of the hotels and venues around the city host a variety of Hallowe’en parties.

Hotels in the city are currently offering specially priced breaks to suit every budget over the Hallowe’en Carnival weekend from as little as £65.00 pps for two nights accommodation plus evening meal.
