Mayor welcomes investment in Dupont

Mayor, Gearóid Ó hEára. has welcomed the announcement that DuPont’s Maydown facility is to benefit from a £40m investment enabling it to expand its manufacturing operations at the Kevlar plant. Speaking after the announcement the Mayor said:

“Today’s announcement is a further recognition of DuPont’s commitment to investing in its position as a global economic leader. This investment is good news for everyone as it will create jobs and wealth. It also underpins the city’s association with international companies who have developed successful investment relationships with the northwest. The Maydown/Campsie area is already identified as a strategic employment location and today’s announcement reinforces the development opportunities that exist within the region.

“Derry City Council looks forward to supporting DuPont and DETI in this period of growth at the Kevlar plant at Maydown”.
