PRESS RELEASEPublic Review Sessions for Grant AidThursday 16th OctoberDerry City Council are finalising the Grant aid programme for 2002-2003 with the remaining grant allocations for Capital and Advice Services expected to be approved at the Recreation and Leisure Committee on the 29th October 2003. In line with the open and transparent nature of the grant aid procedure a series of public review sessions are being organised for the public to comment on the process of grant aid allocation for 2002 - 2003. These meetings will provide an opportunity for public feedback all comments will be presented to Council before the commencement of the 2004-2005 grant-aid programme. Councillor Thomas Conway, Chairperson of Recreation and Leisure stated, “We believe we have moved the grant aid process forward substantively and through these public review sessions we are endeavouring to continually improve this process. Our efforts are to make the decision making process as transparent as possible and we will continue to listen to the views of the public in order to advance the process further”. Public Review Sessions for are as follows: Monday 27th October 2003Shantallow Community Centre 10.00am – 12.00 noon Tuesday 28st October 2003Workhouse Museum 10.00am – 12.00 noon Cllr Conway concluded, “During 2002-2003 Derry City Council
has issued funding to more organisations that the previous year and
we would welcome attendance at the review sessions from the public,
successful and unsuccessful applicants so that we can improve the process
