With everyone across the city keeping their fingers crossed that the city’s bid will prove successful, the Mayor, Cllr. Colum Eastwood, has issued a big thank-you to everyone who has played their part in the campaign. “The effort that has gone into the Derry-Londonderry bid has been simply astonishing and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the agencies, organisations and individuals who have played their part. No job has been too large. No request has been denied. No task, great or small, has been shirked. In keeping with the message of our bid, whenever anyone was asked for their assistance, they ‘Just Said Yes.’” The build-up to the announcement will begin later this afternoon when the area outside the City of Culture Office will be the focal point of the activity.
