Press Release

You’ll love the Christmas shopping opening hours this festive season.

14th December 2004

The Council Christmas campaign website, www.lovethechange.co.uk, provides users with essential information to plan that Christmas shopping expedition in the City this festive season. The informative website includes all the latest information on parking, Euro rates and what's on in the City over the Christmas period.

Christmas shopping opening hours are also highlighted within the website, with the City’s shopping centres open weekdays until 10.00pm up to the 23rd December. A downloadable link is also available, which can be printed off, providing details of the shopping centre opening times in the run up to Christmas.

Many of the City’s independent retailers are also offering late night shopping in the countdown to Christmas, details of which are also included on the website.

A special family feature available on the www.lovethechange.co.uk website includes the email service direct to the North Pole where children can send their Christmas letter to Santa by following the step by step easy to use format. Santa is taking time out to answer all the letters he is being sent through the website which can then be printed off as a special Christmas souvenir.

The ‘You’ll Love the Change’ initiative is supported by Derry City Council, Foyleside, Richmond, Quayside and Lisnagelvin Shopping Centres, City Centre Initiative and the Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau, and is aimed at presenting the positive changes in the City’s retail and tourism sectors.

Christmas shopping in the Walled City - you’ll love the change.
