Press ReleaseDon’t Miss Derry City Council’s Special Santa Post Service!Monday, 12 December 2005Derry City Council has reminded young people in the North West that they’ve just over a week left to put pen to paper or log on to their PC to get their Christmas list on its way to Santa in good time for Christmas Eve. Once again, the Council is giving him a helping hand and has installed a special post box in Guildhall Square specially for letters to Santa. The traditional post box can be found beside the Christmas tree. Young people who prefer to stay indoors out of the cold can send Santa an email via the Council’s interactive Christmas website – www.lovethechange.co.uk To give Santa plenty of time to pack his sleigh, the Council is passing on the message that all the letters should be posted or e-mailed by Friday, December 16th. Council staff guarantee that every letter posted by then will receive a personal response from Santa ,who has set aside time in his busy schedule to write his replies. Last year more than 1,300 children sent their list to Santa in this way, and it’s expected more youngsters than ever will use the Council-backed service this Christmas time.
