Press Release"Frocksrock" at the Guildhall Craft FairMonday, 12 November 2007The Craft Fair at Derry's Guildhall next weekend (16-18 November) will play host to a wide range of contemporary and traditional craft producers from across the country. New to this year’s event is local designers Nicola Cole and Angelo Callaghan, from Killea, Co. Derry and Newtowncunningham Co. Donegal, respectively, exhibiting their exclusive range of fashion for girls and their dolls.
Frocksrock, an exclusive design house and has been up and running in the home of Angelo Callaghan since March of this year and has been enjoying great success. They produce an exclusive range of fun and funky fashion-wear for girls aged between 3 and 8 with matching clothes for their dolls. Nicola Cole, a design and textile graduate who originates from Scotland but lives in Killea, is delighted to get the opportunity to exhibit their range exclusive designs to the Derry public attending the craft fair. “The Guildhall Craft Fair is the perfect location for us to show off these funky clothes and designs. The reaction from the public to date has been phenomenal and we are confident the range of denim wear, day wear, sleep wear and matching dolls clothes will prove popular with the public looking for a high quality, unique and inexpensive Christmas gift.” Nicola is a former employee of Adria lingerie and Desmonds and is delighted to be working from home. “My previous jobs involved a lot of travel and time away from home so its great to be able to spend more time with my family. I was made redundant on two separate occasions in the past number of years and I’m delighted to have been afforded the opportunity to work for myself and to put my experience and ideas into practice and along with Angela’s creative flair and eye for fashion, we make a great team.” Her friend and business partner Angelo Callaghan is also excited about the business. “We sell products from good quality fabrics at affordable prices and our dolls are made to the highest of safety standards - they are exceptionally cute, soft and are suitable for children to take to bed. People are really thrilled with the whole concept of buying an outfit for their daughter and a matching outfit for her doll, particularly when they see how affordable it is. This weekend’s craft fair is a great showcase for us and we are really looking forward to it.” To view the exclusive range of designwear visit their website at www.frocksrock.com or come along to the Guildhall Craft Fair, which runs throughout the weekend with something for everyone including jewellery, textiles, ceramics, knitwear and crafts. Now in its 13th year, the event is renowned as being the ‘showcase of crafts in the north’ attracting exhibitors from all over Ireland. This year’s event combines a unique selection of contemporary and traditional products and designs and is the ideal location for those interested in purchasing some special and unique gifts for Christmas. The Craft Fair opens on Friday 16th November from 4pm-8pm; Saturday 17th November from 10am-6pm and Sunday 19th November from 11am-5pm. Entrance fee is £1.
