Anti-social Behaviour Orders
The Answer to ‘Out of Control Youth’?

Members of Derry City Shadow Council are holding a Citizens Forum to
support Local Democracy Week. Taking place in the Junction, 8 Bishop
Street on Wednesday 19th October 05 at 7.00pm the Forum will give
the community to find out the facts about Anti-social Behaviour Orders
and debate whether or not it is the most effective way to stem anti-social
behaviour in our society.
Speaking ahead of the event, Thomas Carroll, Shadow Councillor said
it was an opportunity to express views in a balanced forum.
‘This is an opportunity for the Shadow Council to make a positive
contribution to this debate. It’s about sharing views and creating
a discussion about anti-social behaviour in the city that affects everyone”.
The Citizens Forum will be Co-Chaired by Wayne Foord, St. Columb’s
Park House and Emmet Doyle of the Shadow Council. John Thompson from
the University of Ulster will also give a brief presentation before
the debate is open to the floor.
Kevin Shields, Shadow Councillor said:
"This is a great chance for people of all ages and occupations
to express their views on a very topical issue and create a successful
debate to mark Local Democracy Week”.
The Citizens Forum event takes place in the Junction, 8 Bishop Street
on Wednesday 19th October 05 at 7.00pm and is open to everyone.
