Press ReleaseMayor welcomes 120 new jobs for the cityMonday 12th MayThe Mayor Alderman Drew Thompson has welcomed the announcement by Fujitsui Services Ltd that 120 new jobs are to be created in the city. Speaking following the announcement by Minister Nigel Dodds this morning, the Mayor said the £8.8m investment was a significant boost to the local economy and reaffirmed the company’s confidence in Northern Ireland and its long-term commitment to its current workforce. “This is great news for the city and comes following the historic investment conference that was held last week. I am delighted that Fujitsui sees the potential in our city and acknowledges the fact that we have an enthusiastic, youthful and available workforce with a high standard of academic and technical skills. “I would like to acknowledge the company’s investment and also play tribute to the important role played by Invest NI in securing these much needed jobs for our region. I am hopeful that the North West region will see the fruits of the investment conference in the months and years ahead. I am committed to working with the key stakeholders in this city to ensure that the city and region will continue to benefit from any potential investment opportunities that exist.
