Press ReleaseMayor’s Christmas Tea DanceTuesday 11th December 2007The Mayor Alderman Drew Thompson will host the annual Mayoral Christmas Tea Dance in the Guildhall tomorrow, Wednesday 12th December. Speaking ahead of the event, the Mayor said, “The Tea Dances have proved to be a hugely popular event with the senior citizens of our city. I am delighted to have the opportunity to support this event, as I believe that they provide a great social outlet for older people particularly at a time where they can feel quite isolated and lonely.” Organised in association with Age Concern, admission to the event is free by ticket only, which are available from the Derry City Council offices on Strand Road 7165151 and Spencer Road 71345160. The event has been organised as part of the Mayor’s contribution to the ongoing Festive Time campaign, which is profiling a range of Christmas events taking place over the next two weeks. Details of the events, including choral recitals, an outdoor ice rink and street entertainment, are currently available on the designated festive time website www.festivetime.com.
