Press ReleaseMayor welcomes Firstsource openingMonday, 11 December 2006The Mayor Cllr Helen Quigley has welcomed the opening of the Firstsource (formerly ICICI One Source) offices in Derry today. The Mayor welcoming the investment said the company’s announcement of up to 500 jobs a few months ago has had a great impact on the city and region. “Already we have seen the many benefits that this company has brought to the city. The company has embarked on a major recruitment drive and training programme and I am delighted that the offices are open and the work commencing. I am in no doubt that the company will be very successful in Derry thanks to our wealth of good quality employees, support services and facilities.” Firstsource is among India’s leading Business Process Outsourcing companies who announced back in July that it intended opening its second Northern Ireland centre in Derry. “Firstsource’s opening of the offices have raise confidence levels and given recognition to the city’s strengths in providing a skilled, youthful and available workforce, as well as providing a prime location for investment. The opening of the offices today is an important boost, not only for the city, but for the North West region as a whole,” she said. ***Ends*** Press OfficeTel: 028 71 376504Fax: 028 71 264858 Julie Flannigan Email: Julie.Flannigan@derrycity.gov.uk Claire Lundy Email: Claire.Lundy@derrycity.gov.uk |
