Press ReleasePolicy and Resources Committee for December 2007Monday 10th December 2007Members of the Policy and Resources Committee will meet on Thursday, 13TH December 2007 at 4.00 pm to discuss a range of matters relating to the work and performance of Derry City Council. Details of all committee meetings are available on the Council website - www.derrycity.gov.uk/thisweek Members will be asked to consider receiving members of Rubbicon Consulting at a future Full Council meeting to distribute and collect questionnaires in relation to RPA: Governance Arrangements Consultation. Following the resignation of Councillor Mary Bradley from the Board of the WELB, members will be asked to nominate a replacement nominee to sit on the board. Copies of the Draft NI Policing Board Corporate Plan for 2008-2011 will be provided at the meeting, while feedback on the provision of Management Software Systems will be sought. Details of Council’s responses to the four consultation documents - Programme for Government, Public Service Agreement Framework, Investment Strategy and Budget - will be outlined to members for consideration and recommendation. Members will be asked to consider nominating representatives from Council to attend the Association of Municipal Authorities of Ireland Spring Seminar in County Meath whikle details of the City Solicitor's representation on the NI Assembly Committee on Procedures Inquiry into Private Legislation will be outlined to members. Members will also be asked to consider attending an APSE/DOE (NI) concentrating on customer services and an NAC Conference entitled a Cleaner and Greener Local Environment. Information on the proposed network change programme by the Post Office and NILGA’s annual report and accounts for 2006/07 will be made available to members at the meeting. Details of proposed social housing provision in the Glen Court/Cedar Court area of Rosemount will be outlined. Members will also be made aware of a number of resolutions from other Councils including one from West Lothian Council in relation to the imposing tax change in VAT regulations, and another from Ballymena Borough Council relating to the call to Government to honour those serving in the Armed Forces.
