Mayor commends Altnagelvin hospital

The Mayor, Cllr Paul Fleming has praised the important role of Altnagelvin Hospital in the everyday lives of the people of the North West region.

The Mayor was speaking as Altnagelvin Hospital celebrates 50 years of providing first class quality care in the city and region.

Paying tribute to the founders of the hospital for their insight and commitment to establishing such an important facility for the public, the Mayor said the hospital had successfully provided the local community with excellent patient care over the past five decades.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to everyone associated with the hospital, to the doctors, nurses and support staff, as well as the founder members, management, board members and local people - a big thank you for the years of respect, compassion and excellent care you have provided.

“I wish the hospital continued success for the future and fully support the work that is being done to maximising the opportunities that exist to provide more hospital and primary care facilities for the people of the North West,” he concluded.
