The new service commenced yesterday and runs daily from the City of Derry Airport. |
Since commencing operations at Derry in 1999, Ryanair has carried in excess of 1.4 million passengers. The total number of destinations served by Ryanair from City of Derry Airport is now five and only Ryanair guarantees the lowest fares.
Welcoming the new route launch, Ryanair’s Head of Sales and Marketing UK Caroline Baldwin said:
“We are delighted to launch this service from Derry today. The new Bristol route offers lots of choice for a fabulous short break. Bristol is the largest city in the England’s South West with splendid architecture, a rich maritime heritage, a wealth of attractions and beautiful estates and parkland.
Just a fifteen minute train ride from Bristol is Bath; a unique city with its hot springs, Roman Baths and Georgian stone crescents set in the rolling Somerset countryside. Both Cardiff and Cheltenham are also within striking distance of this dynamic destination.
“To celebrate Ryanair is offering 4 million seats from Derry and across Europe from just £10 one way including airport taxes and charges and we urge passengers to log onto www.ryanair.com immediately, as this offer must end at midnight on Thursday 15th November.”
Welcoming the announcement, the Mayor, Alderman Drew Thompson said the commencement of additional service to the UK will add greater choice for passengers travelling to and from the region.
He said: “The Bristol route will enhance opportunities for tourism and business and bring benefits to the region as well as onward connections to other destinations across Europe. The City of Derry Airport continues to support the local economy through improving direct access to the region and I very much welcome the start of the Bristol route.”
