Press ReleasePublic Invited To Have A Say At DPP MeetingTuesday, 07 November 2006Members of the public are invited to attend a District Policing Partnership (DPP) meeting on Wednesday 22nd November at 3pm at Oakgrove College. The PSNI District Commander for Foyle will present his six-month report on local policing. The meeting will give the public a chance to air their views and discuss policing issues in their areas and items raised by DPP members. There will also be an opportunity to question the District Police Commander through the chairman of the DPP. Encouraging the public to have their say at the meeting, the Chairman of the DPP, Cllr Thomas Conway said: “I would encourage as many people as possible to come along to the meeting as it provides the public with a unique chance for them to have their say about a range of policing and local crime issues which concern them. “It is important that the public continues to take an active role and interest in policing so that we can move forward and work together to address the issues that concern all of us. Most people have an opinion on what’s happening in their communities and how they can be made safer. These opinions must be heard and this is your chance to speak out.” To allow the Police Commander to answer specific queries, questions should be written, e-mailed or faxed through to the DPP manager by 12 noon on Friday 17th November. Alternatively a member of the DPP can table a query on behalf of a member of the public. Questions and queries can be forwarded to Freepost Derry D.P.P. by phoning 028 71376565; faxing 028 71 368536 or by e-mail: derrydpp@derrycity.gov.uk For additional information contact:Press OfficeTel: 028 71 376504Fax: 028 71 265448 Adele McCourt Email: Adele.McCourt@derrycity.gov.uk Claire Lundy Email: Claire.Lundy@derrycity.gov.uk |
