Press ReleaseCouncil to assist local children get their message to SantaMonday, 06 December 2004Local children are being encouraged by Derry City Council to pen their letter to Santa Claus this Christmas and post it using the Santa letter post-box at Guildhall Square or by sending Santa an email via the Council’s interactive Christmas website – www.Lovethechange.co.uk The traditional Santa letter post box is located beside the Christmas Tree at Guildhall Square. Every letter posted before Monday 20 December, which is the last date for posting letters using the service will receive a response from Santa. Alternatively children can choose to send a message and their Christmas list to Santa by following the step by step easy to use format on the website. Santa is also taking time out of his busy schedule to respond to each email. The Mayor, Councillor Gearoid O’hEara welcoming the initiatives said he hoped as many local children as possible availed of the services. “Christmas is a very important time of the year for all of us, but especially for children and I am delighted that the Council is offering children a variety of options to contact Santa this year,” he said.
