Book and website launches at Culture Office

This week sees two exciting launches in Derry’s City of Culture Office, which is now established as a key cultural hub for the city.

The website YOURderry.com was formed by local people for local people and is a business directory and community portal with a difference.

The man behind the website, Kevin Brown, said: “With so much buzz and enthusiasm about the city with the Regeneration Programme, the new Peace Bridge and the fantastic bid for City of Culture 2013 to name just a few things, we wanted to add to that energy and vibrancy by launching our new website.

“Our core aim is to promote businesses and organisations throughout this city, offer a strong online presence and a sustained long-term marketing strategy. We have devised a marketing mix for our site that will give every listing exposure both online and offline with social networking and print media.”

The official launch of YOURderry.com has been set for Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11am, at the City of Culture Office, Northern Counties Building.

Meanwhile Thursday sees a book launch at the City of Culture Office.

Zoela’s Stories by Helena E Schlindwein PhD, is a collection of therapeutic tales for children.

The tales in Zoela’s Stories are a way of reaching all children across the world today, but particularly those who find themselves in helpless and powerless situations beyond their control and their ability to cope.

Helena wanted to focus on children's stories that would develop ways of reaching into their inner consciousness to reassure them that their self-worth endures in spite of their external experiences and that they can restore their peace of mind.

Zoela’s Stories will be launched at the City of Culture Office, Northern Counties Building, on Thursday July 8th at 4pm.
