Press ReleaseViews Sought on Play Facilities for the Council areaFriday, 06 June 2008Derry City Council, Ilex and Derry Children’s Commission are producing a Play Plan to determine future needs across the Council area. An audit of existing facilities has already been undertaken to measure the current state of play and this information will form the baseline of the Plan for future provision. To ensure play provision is based on need, a consultation exercise is now being carried out. Questionnaires have been issued to all local schools, community groups and stakeholder groups to ascertain their views on current play provision and play needs. In addition, parents and carers are encouraged to log onto www.derrycity.gov.uk/consultation and www.ilex-urc.com to access the online questionnaire and share their views. Council, Ilex and the Children’s Commission will engage in wider discussions with the public throughout the City and District in July and August through a series of public meetings. We would encourage the public to share their views on play provision for the future of the area by attending the public meetings or by completing an online questionnaire.
