Don’t miss Council’s Special Santa Post Service!

Boys and girls in the North West are reminded to post their letters to Santa this Christmas at the special Santa Post Box that is located outside the Guildhall. Derry City Council is happy to assist Santa as he busily prepares all the presents for boys and girls across the city.

Speaking exclusively from his workshop in the North Pole, Santa said he was looking forward to reading letters from children in the city to help him prepare for his busy night.

“This is my busiest time of year but I’m very excited and looking forward to visiting the homes of children across the world - especially in Derry.

“I hope all the boys and girls in the north west have been very good all year. I have been keeping an eye on everyone and I know who’s been naughty and nice. I will be writing to all the children who send me letters and I’ve asked the elves to help me address the envelopes. So please children make sure you send me your full name and address because some of the elves don’t know where everyone lives!”

The deadline for posting letters to Santa is Friday 14th December to give all Santa’s helpers a chance to get replies posted.

The Mayor, Alderman Drew Thompson thanked Santa for taking time to respond to all the children in the city who write to him.

“I know Santa is under a lot of pressure at this time of year getting presents ready for boys and girls all over the world. But even though he’s so busy he has agreed to write back to all the children who send him letters. I am very grateful to Santa and all the elves who are working round the clock to make sure none of the children here are disappointed. Even though he’s so busy, Santa is always cheerful and laughing and I think he does a fantastic job! Three cheers for Santa!”

Letters posted at Santa’s post box outside the Guildhall will be taken directly to the North Pole for Santa to read and reply to.
