Press ReleaseMayor expresses deep disappointment at e-HR decision2nd December 2005Derry City Council has expressed its deep disappointment with the announcement by the Department of Finance & Personnel (DFP) of their preferred bidder status for the e-HR contract despite the many serious concerns raised by civic and business leaders with regard to the integrity of the procurement process. Mayor, Cllr Lynn Fleming said that Government’s decision in relation to the procurement of e-HR services remains unacceptable and flawed. ““The regeneration of the North West is a priority and this decision will have major impact on the economy of this region. It reflects neither regional strategies, challenges of targeting social need or supports the efforts we have made to bring employment to the area. “It is simply unacceptable that many of the questions raised by civic, business and community representatives have gone unanswered while Government continues with a decision that is tainted by irrationality, unfairness and procedural impropriety. “The views and needs of the region are being ignored and this position reflects a Government intention to pursue a decision that will seriously disadvantage the North West. Today’s announcement reinforces the need to scrutinise each stage of this process and Derry City Council remains strongly committed to challenging this decision”.
