Press ReleaseGet Crafty At The Guildhall02 November 2006The best in creative and innovative design will be showcased at Derry’s Guildhall later this month. Jewellery, glass, ceramics and textiles will be presented by some of Ireland’s most talented and inspiring young designers. Over 40 exhibitors will participate in this year’s annual Craft Fair and the event will give visitors an opportunity to buy some of the most exclusive arts and craftswork available ahead of Christmas. Welcoming exhibitors to this year’s Crafts Fair, the Mayor, Councillor Helen Quigley said: “The annual Guildhall Craft Fair is one of the highlights of the city’s events calendar and every year I am astounded by the quality and variety of products available. I am looking forward to welcome all our exhibitors to the city and to sample the wide range of products that will be on show. “This is a fantastic opportunity to buy a few early Christmas presents or maybe even just treat yourself! We’re lucky that we attract so many high quality arts and crafts people and I’m sure that once again our many visitors to the city won’t be disappointed.” Exhibitors will be at the Guildhall on Friday 17th November from 4pm to 8pm, Saturday 18th November, 10am to 6pm and Sunday 19th November from 11am to 5pm. Complementing the calibre of exhibitors, Director of Craft Northern Ireland, Joe Kelly said: “We have the cream of craftspeople, designer-makers and applied artists coming to Derry and I think people will find there is something for everyone on display. From contemporary jewellery to earthenware, textiles and wood carvings you can be sure that whatever you choose to buy at the Guildhall Craft Fair will be utterly exclusive, handmade and totally unique.” An entrance fee of £1 will give all visitors access to the entire exhibition.
