Mayor Welcomes Jobs Announcement

The Mayor, Alderman Drew Thompson has welcomed the announcement today of 334 new jobs for the city.

The Mayor, speaking following the announcement today by Indian company Firstsource Solutions Ltd that 834 new jobs are to be set up in Northern Ireland, said the investment was evidence of the company’s confidence in the North West region and commitment to its existing local workforce.

“Since its establishment in the city, Firstsource has been an excellent employment provider, employing 500 people in the city. News of these new jobs is a tremendous boost to the wider region and the local economy and is to be broadly welcomed.

The Mayor also acknowledged the role played by Invest NI in attracting the investment.
