Excitement builds as Foyle Arena gets ready to open to the public
Derry City and Strabane District Council’s state-of-the-art leisure and events facility, the Foyle Arena will open its doors to the public on Monday, 27 April, following an 18-month build.

Last Chance for Free Faughan Valley Heritage Training Course
Faughan Valley Landscape Partnership are pleased to once again offer free of charge, heritage training opportunities for volunteers or local people interested in the natural and built heritage of rural Derry and the Faughan Valley.   The training is LANTRA accredited and will take place in the new LANTRA approved training centre in the RAPID offices at the Old School, Killaloo near Claudy. 

Calling all late risers for Dusk Chorus event
The first weekend in May is the traditional time to wake up early and attend a Dawn Chorus to enjoy and learn about birdsong but this year late risers can take part with our Dusk Chorus which is taking place on Sunday 3rd May at 8.00pm at Learmount Forest with a guided walk by Dr. Mary Montague who has studied bird song there for over three years. 

Historic planning meeting of Derry City and Strabane District Council takes place
Members of the Derry City and Strabane District Council held the inaugural Planning meeting this week in which councillors were able to make determinations in relation to planning applications for the first time in over 40 years.
