Call for Expressions of Interest for Volunteers

Derry City Council’s Heritage & Museum Service are looking for volunteers to work on a variety of Museum led projects.

Some of the volunteering opportunities available include:

  • Assisting with historical research
  • Assisting with cataloguing and boxing of archive, genealogy and museum collections
  • Assisting with outreach and learning programmes
  • Assisting with event management

Anyone over 18 years of age is welcome to volunteer. No specialist skills or knowledge are necessary; the only qualification needed is a desire to make a difference in the community.

Volunteers can expect to:

  • Receive on the job training
  • Learn many useful practical skills
  • Improve future employment prospects
  • Be part of a creative team

Closing date for the expressions of interest form is 5pm on Friday June 17th 2011.

Strong interest is expected and we regret that it may not be possible for all applicants to be invited to participate in the first round of projects.
