Working In Partnership

Mentoring & Employment Service

Raising awareness and increasing signposting to the service.

The KickStart Outreach Service engages the long-term unemployed and economically inactive to avail of its one-to-one mentoring and employment service. It recognises that a key way of doing this is to work closely with community and voluntary sector organisations that have a track record of engaging harder-to-reach groups.

KickStart to Work actively promotes its Mentoring & Employment Service which includes one-to-one, ongoing support with job searching, writing CVs, completing job application forms, interview preparation and much more. It has run joint events with a number of community groups to date.

Kickstart to Work Bus

  • We have a kickSTART mobile unit, which our full Mentoring & Employment service can be delivered on. The vehicle will enhance any event relevant to the work carried out by the kickSTART Outreach service for example job fairs, job clubs, open days etc. If you know of any community events coming up in the your area that we could bring the kickSTART bus out to, please ring Mena at our office to discuss and get it into our bus events programme. In addition, we have a promotional stand which we can bring along to events.

Outreach Clinics

  • Get in touch to discuss planning a kickSTART outreach clinic in your local area. A kickSTART outreach clinic can be organised for a time that your centre is used by people who might want to avail of this service and when the Employment & Mentoring Officer could have use of a space in your centre. Also, if there were a number of people who were identified as interested in the Outreach service, an Employment & Mentoring Officer could run a session in your centre to suit them.

How can you help to promote the service?

  • Put up kickSTART posters in your centres and leave leaflets on display for residents. (Copies are available from our office)
  • Read the leaflet and signpost residents to the kickSTART outreach service – if you have any questions about the service please get in touch.
