Community Relations Week 2011

Sure What's the Problem?Community relations week 2011 has a packed programme of over 60 free events taking place in the Derry~Londonderry area from Saturday, 21 May to Saturday 28 May.

Marked across Northern Ireland on an annual basis, community relations week aims to challenge racism and sectarianism and promote peace building, cultural diversity, cross community work and equality issues.  This year the theme being taken locally is “Sure What’s the Problem?” and the focus this year is about dealing with the legacy of the past and how we are moving on to a shared and better future for everyone.  The events are organised by Derry City Council’s community relations section and by various community and voluntary sector organizations locally.

Community Relations Week 2011 takes place from May 23 to May 28, organised by the Community Relations Council, with the theme ‘Division – no quick fix’.   Over 130 events will take place across all local council areas making this the biggest event in the community relations calendar.
