Data Protection

Derry City Council is obliged to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998. The Information Commissioner who oversees compliance and promotes good practice, requires all data controllers who process personal data to be responsible for their processing activities and comply with the eight data protection principles of 'good information handling'. This document sets out Derry City Council’s policy and controls in compiling with its statutory obligations.
